    A & E TV Gives Hypnotism a Black Eye! I am angry

Has anyone here ever had a chance to watch A & E TV show the TWO COREYS? It's about two former child stars friends now getting back together in "real life".

I happened to have the misfortune to catch a few minutes of this show last night.
The Plot line on this episode revolved around the "boys" attempting to stop smoking. And the biggest part of the show was their visit to a hypnotist. I was truly disappointed by the performance of said Hypnotist trying to get them to stop smoking.

I am a Board Certified Clinical Hypnotist practicing here on Long Island and I do more stop smoking sessions than just about anything else so I was keenly interested in watching this. I believe that the hypnotist that they went to made so many tactical blunders it was no surprise that they lit up in right outside his door as they left after their session!

First of all, he tried to do EFT tapping on them without really explaining what it was or how it works. If you do that you just come across looking like a quack. Let's be honest EFT is a bizarre looking thing and it has to be properly explained. I use EFT tapping all the time very successfully with my smokers but I tell my clients what it is all about first. I demonstrate it on them. I don't just have them tapping on their foreheads and around their bodies mimicking me and mocking me. Secondly if my client is not taking it seriously, I show them to door. Why the hell didn't this guy?
He obviously never established rapport with either of them and frankly to have both of them in the room together and playing off each other only meant that this session was doomed from the start.
If this guy is a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, he needs remedial education now. He gave all hypnotists a black eye and did so on national TV.

If it were me... these guys would not have been treated together or I would not have worked with them. And I believe that they would not be smoking anymore. Actors are generally easy to hypnotize. They are very right brained. Too bad I am here and they are there. And too bad they went to a guy who was more interested in getting his face on TV than he was helping his clients.
